FarmDog

Several weeks ago, I got to go take some pictures at an old farmhouse north of town. A family bought this old, old farmhouse and is rehabbing the entire thing, and my mother is doing some custom stained glass work for them.

They went out to install the first piece, and I went along with camera in tow. Abby, of course, came along as well.

The family has a dog, so of course my attention turned to her. I can’t remember her name, so I call her FarmDog. Here are just a few of the shots from that day. More to come…

Mid-yawn shots: gotta love’em.

I know this one is totally blown out, but I love it anyway.

The garage (note the open land beyond…a rarity these days).

Oh Snap!

Thanks to Mod-Dog, I am now in the Snap directory! Looks like it will be pretty cool when they finish all the links.

And now for a pic of Miss Abby resting after wrestling with Kyla…

The Strip

Kyla and I were playing with the new camera one afternoon. I just set it on continuous focus, burst firing, held out the camera, pushed the button and held it there for several minutes. If you have those settings on your camera I highly recommend doing this. When you scroll through the images, it ends up looking like a movie. Very cool.

These are some of the keepers we got, I thought they looked cute in a filmstrip look.

In Memorium

My co-worker and friend’s precious Sadie went on to the Rainbow Bridge this week. Sadie was a border collie/chow mix, and she was a special girl.

My thoughts are with you, Beth.

Not to mention…

Also got the new camera with a new wide-angle lens, which I have been wanting for a while.

18-55 mm. Love it.

I couldn’t get shots like this before the wide-angle. It’s her, “I need you to touch me so I feel secure” look.

The Look

I’ve got a new camera, the Pentax K20D. It’s pretty cool. Some things I’m not used to, but I’ll get there. I’ve been playing with it the last couple days with Kyla and Abby.

When you buy a new camera, they don’t automatically tell you that you’ll have to upgrade EVERYTHING else you use along with the camera; like Photoshop, Camera Raw, Bridge and all that other stuff.

I just had Photoshop CS2. Turns out I need CS4. So I’ve downloaded the trial version just to get me started and see how the test shots came out.

This one’s pretty cute. It’s her, “I want something” look.

Ice Flair

We all love sun flair, but how about when the sun is reflecting off the ice and snow?

This is what it looked like in front of our french doors last week when it was icy. You almost needed sunglasses inside the kitchen it was so bright.

I like the ice flair in the image, and how Kyla’s eye is still clear, and the fact that she’s actually looking at the camera. That’s rare when she’s in this position, which is a lot. She’s pretty lazy.

I know Kyla has been dominating the blog lately, but clients are slow for me now. Not that I mind. Hopefully when the weather gets better I will concentrate on attaining more business.

In the meantime, I hope Kyla and my random ramblings are enough to keep you coming back!

More list fun…

So everyone in the blogging community and around Facebook is sharing lists. Lists of random facts, lists of goals, lists of quirks.

I’ve shared my randon list.

But I had an idea for another list.  A list of roles. What roles do you play in your everyday life?

Here are mine in random order (as many as I could think of).
