Just some more shooting blind with Klya. She had an itch she just couldn’t quite get.

Finally! The Rescued books are done. For those that don’t know, I volunteer at the Edmond, OK Animal Shelter, but haven’t been able to actually volunteer for a while. So I decided to do something else for the shelter: photograph rescued dogs and sell the photobooks to benefit the shelter.
It’s been a long process, photographing all the dogs and their owners, getting all their stories together, and piecing the book together into a beautiful, glossy photobook.
For some background and to preview some of the images that made it into the book, select “the rescued” from my blog categories above. There is also more on my old blog.
I will be selling the books for $20 each. If you are interested in purchasing one and helping out a great cause – the shelter animals – send me an email.
You can’t put a price on getting these special animals adopted and into a forever home. As a shelter dog adopter myself, I know how awesome these dogs (and cats) can be.

I would be remiss if I didn’t give blog time to the donkeys from Bart, Stubby, and Lady’s shoot.
They were so friendly. They followed me around and would push into my back with their heads while walking as if to move me along. They also liked the taste of my camera bag.
Could it be because I had treats inside?
p.s. I’ve uploaded the best images from this session into my portfolio site. Check ‘em out!

This is Lady.
She lives with Bart and Stubby.
She’s just a pup and a new addition to the family.
She doesn’t have all her manners yet, so we got what we could of her.
What a pretty face, eh?

As I am processing images from this morning’s shoot with Bart + Stubby, I had to share this cute little photo story of the two chums playing together in the gazebo.
Bart = black lab
Stubby = yellow lab

This little girl was at Klein’s house the day of his shoot. She was such a shy little girl, and I’m so sorry I can’t for the life of me remember her name.
I managed to get only one shot of her hiding under a lawn chair that her owner was sitting in.
Isn’t she so fragile and cute?

This is my space. I love it in here.
I spend a lot of time here – sleeping, dreaming, hanging out with mom watching tv.
This is my space.

(She really does love her crate, seriously.)
Well things are back to normal now that the Art Festival is over. Thanks to all the positive comments and interest in my work. I look forward to booking lots of sessions!
Things are normal again, except for the weather. Remnants of Gustav are affecting us in Oklahoma. It’s way cooler outside, cloudy and rainy. I don’t mind the rain if it comes with cooler temps.
Here’s a double dose of Kyla enjoying the evening; first, making her daily walk around the fence perimeter chewing on the bushes and grass like a giraffe.
Second, she’s just smelling the cool air. She loves it when it’s cool out. Must be the husky in her.
